FAQ

What people ask us

How much does a new concrete driveway cost?

Typical U.S. prices run from about $6 to $12 per square foot for a plain driveway. Stamped or colored finishes often cost more. Slope, thickness, old slab removal and access all change the total. Do not rely on a rough guess. Ask a provider for a written quote that lists each item, then compare quotes side by side.

Does homeowners insurance cover a new driveway or patio?

Usually not. A new project is an upgrade, and policies rarely pay for upgrades. Some policies may cover sudden damage from a covered event, so check your policy. Providers can often help document damage for a claim. Ask your insurer before work begins, and keep photos and written records of the site.

How do I choose a concrete provider I can trust?

Do ask for a written quote, proof of insurance and a clear plan for the base, thickness and joints. Do ask about drainage. Do not pay a large amount up front. Do not feel rushed by a door-knock offer. Providers in our network are independent, so you decide who does the job.

Can I pour a small patio myself?

A small, flat slab is a possible weekend job, but it is hard. Wet concrete is heavy and can burn skin, so wear gloves, boots and eye protection. Timing is tight, and mistakes set hard. Large driveways, slopes and stamped finishes need pro tools and skill. Help safely, hire smart.

What can I safely do to help before the crew arrives?

You can clear furniture, plants, toys and cars from the area. You can mark sprinkler heads and buried lines you know about. Do not run heavy tools, cut old slabs or dig near utilities yourself. Ask the provider what prep they want, and keep kids and pets away from the site.

How do I keep a new slab from cracking?

Good prep matters most. That means a firm, level base, proper thickness and cut control joints. Hot, humid weather can dry the top too fast, so ask how the provider will cure it. Do not drive on it early. Keep sprinklers and heavy loads off until cleared.

How long until I can use my new driveway or patio?

Most slabs take a few days before foot traffic and about a week or more before cars, but it depends on the mix and weather. Heavy rain can delay a pour. Ask your provider for their exact timing. Plan where the family parks, and keep everyone off the surface until told.

Do you also handle concrete driveway repair or foundation repair experts?

This site is for new concrete projects, such as driveways, stamped concrete patios and other concrete flatwork. It is not a repair line. If you see cracks in your house walls or floors, a structural expert should check them first. Do not pour new concrete near a possible foundation problem until that is sorted out.
